NTA tariffs to increase

The tariff for fitness tests will increase as the National Transport Authority (NTA), which will be privatised this year, will acquire more sophisticated devices. This was confirmed by an NTA officer.

The registration or removal of a link on a vehicle is now Rs 400; the transfer of motorcycles will increase to Rs 200 from Rs 100; the cost of transfer
of motorcycles will increase to Rs 100 as compared to Rs 50 previously.
For cars, the fee will be Rs 300 instead of Rs 200. The transfer of motor vehicles will move from Rs 250 to Rs 400.
Registering a motorcycle now costs Rs 2,000, compared to Rs 1,000 previously. The reservation of the plate number is at Rs 2,000, compared to Rs 1000 earlier.
The cost for a personalised plate is Rs 25,000 against Rs 10,000, which is an increase of 150 per cent. Taxi license, which cost Rs 75 per year will now be Rs 500 for a period of three years.
The Contract Bus license is now Rs 5,000 annually as against Rs 4,000 annually earlier.
