During a visit to Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital on Wednesday, High Commissioner of India, Madhusudan Ganapathi, said that giving someone their eyesight was one of the best services.
Director S Rajagopalan welcomed and showed Ganapathi around the hospital, which started its operation this year in Mauritius.
“Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, which is renowned for innovative surgical techniques and is a pioneer in offering latest eye care technology in India, has expanded its mission to create an international footprint by starting its newest world class eye hospital in Mauritius,” said Rajagopalan.
Ganapathi was impressed and congratulated the staff.
“Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital in Mauritius and its activities need to be commended. From an Indo-Mauritian perspective, the hospital is adding a lot of value to the bilateral relations between India and Mauritius,” he said, adding that this is a platform to make Mauritius a visionary medical hub as thought of by the Mauritian government.
As Rajagopalan said, the hospital is equipped with the latest technology aimed at providing quality eye care in a patient friendly environment for Mauritian as well as for patients from region.
“We have had patients from Seychelles and Madagascar and we offer a comprehensive spectrum of services. Everything can be done here. During the week we have around 70 patients daily and 100 patients during the weekend. Four to five cataract surgeries are also conducted everyday,” he said.
