The State Informatics Ltd (SIL), a Mauritian state-owned company is housing an outsourced technical support centre for SAP solutions for the international French market. The SIL consultants are already working on the SAP system which is located in Paris.
A team of SIL computer engineers are based in the latter’s premises in Port Louis, and they are connected to the SAP system of the client company in France to intervene when necessary and for conducting updates required by the company .
The team of SIL can intervene online at any time to achieve the necessary technical support. This new advantage of SIL is being achieved through IBS international company which is planning to broaden their partnership with SIL to reach the French market.
The selection of SIL for this assistance was confirmed after a mission in Paris at the client company to verify the system used by this company and to demonstrate the skills of the consultant engineers of SIL for SAP solutions. SAP is a worldwide leader in software for businesses. It ranks first in the software industry in Europe and fourth globally. Founded in 1972, this German company has over 95,000 customers in 120 countries and has offices in over 50 countries.
SIL had successfully completed the operation of an IT solution to “Enhancement Pack – Ehp4 SAP” for the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) in March. This solution namely the Integrated Tax Administration Solution (ITAS) provides data integration of the different departments of the MRA.
“By making this outsourced centre for SAP solutions, SIL confirms the skill of its people and its potential to best serve a highly competitive market beyond the borders of Mauritius. Our capabilities on advanced solutions can open new markets for us. This is in addition to what we have already achieved in the continent for several years by relying on solutions including Oracle, Sun, IBM and Cisco,” said Kemraz Mohee, managing director of SIL. “We want to develop our partnership with SIL to serve our existing markets and to achieve others in the French market,” said Partho Bhattacharya, the director general of IBS partner.
IBS has successfully built offshore SAP support services in English language, integrated with comprehensive assistance on website at competitive rates. This same model is available now in French through a partnership with SIL.
Dr Ashveen Kissoonah, president of the board of directors of SIL highlighted the evolution which this service represents on SAP. “We are already recognised in Africa. The contracts in Europe have failed because of the crisis.
